Comments on the presentation Staying Home or Moving to a Retirement Residence – Considerations You Should Know.  “You spoke clearly and very well so that all the attendees could understand the information you were providing. “When my uncle Art (living independently at the age of 97) fell ill and was hospitalized for a  couple of months his medical team identified that Art is no longer capable of living on his own or operating his vehicle.  We were informed that we need to locate an assisted living accommodation for Art. I just didn’t know where to begin or most importantly what was available here in Calgary that could meet his medical and personal needs and in addition I wanted the location to be close to my home so that I did not have to travel any long distances to assist with Art.

Where does one begin to say thank you to a team that made a task that was completely overwhelming become a great experience?  When I had to take over the Power of Attorney for my mother living in a secure memory care facility in Victoria, BC and move her closer to us in Calgary, Alberta, I really didn’t think I was up to it.
