I have always been interested in helping people. I received Bachelor degrees in Pharmacy and Sociology from the University of Saskatchewan, and moved out west after graduation. I worked as a clinical pharmacist in Calgary for 20 years, and I spent time early in my career assisting seniors living in retirement communities. I love working with seniors – the wisdom and character that comes with life experience is something I really admire.
When my own family member became ill, navigating the health care system was very overwhelming. There was so much information, and knowing what would help and what was needed took a lot of time and effort. I found myself wanting to help my own patients this way, so I decided to move my skills away from the pharmacy in search of a career where I could really make a difference in people’s lives. Proactive Seniors has been the perfect fit!
Outside of work, my husband, three children and two dogs bring new adventures every day. My hobbies include reading, cooking and sometimes yoga. I spend my time at kids’ activities, and on days off we escape to the mountains where we love to hike, bike and explore!
